Work that is provable, publishable and used in medicine.
We are recruiting the founding team of Synthetix Health in Stockholm. If your work sits at the intersection of formal privacy and clinical data, we want to talk to you now; role scope is shaped around exceptional people.
Three things are true at once, for the first time.
The law now asks for proof.
European anonymisation guidance and the EHDS, which opens secondary use from 2029, need a definition of a safe release. It has not been written yet.
Generative models met formal privacy.
Models good enough to be useful can now be trained under guarantees strong enough to be trusted. The hard problems are at that intersection.
Stockholm is the right lab bench.
One of Europe’s densest life-science clusters, world-class universities and an AI community growing fast, all within a few kilometres.
Small team, large surface area.
Each founding role owns a part of the standard. Open a role to see what it involves.

What you will do
- Build generative models for structured clinical data that train under privacy constraints
- Define and measure utility against real downstream tasks
- Turn research results into the production engine
You might have
- Depth in generative modelling for structured and relational data, including synthesis under differential privacy
- Experience with clinical coding systems (ICD-10, RxNorm, OMOP) or high-dimensional sparse tables
- Rigour about evaluation and honest reporting
Clinical data engineer
FHIR · OMOPStockholm
What you will do

- Build deployments that run inside institutional boundaries
- Work directly with clinical informatics teams
You might have
- Hands-on experience with FHIR, HL7 or OMOP
- Comfort with security-sensitive, on-premise environments

Founding commercial lead
Life sciences · NordicsStockholm
What you will do
- Build our first partnerships with hospitals, registries and life-science companies
- Shape pricing and packaging of certified data
- Represent the company with regulators and investors
You might have

The standard we hold ourselves to.
Write it down.
Decisions, proofs and evaluations live in documents anyone on the team can read and challenge.
Attack our own work.
We try to break every guarantee before we ship it. Finding a flaw is the most valuable thing you can do here.
Publish what we can.
Research that can be public is public. You will build a record of work under your own name.
Own the outcome.
Founding roles mean real ownership, of a system, a relationship or a result, from the first day.
Theses on real clinical problems.
Ten master’s and PhD projects for 2027, across privacy and security, biostatistics, health informatics, law and regulatory science. Open to students at ten universities in Stockholm, Uppsala, Berlin and Munich. Each project has a supervisor at Synthetix Health and a question worth publishing.
All projects run under a standard confidentiality and IP agreement, agreed before work begins.
